I cannot believe that 2019 is almost over as it doesn’t seem too long ago that I updated Ash Vale Training news! Now As 2019 is rapidly drawing to a close we thought we would take this opportunity to reflect on our training to date in this first half of this financial year. We have ourselves re qualified as accredited instructors with both the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) in May and with the RTITB (formerly the Road Transport Industry Training Board) in December of last year and this allows us to continue giving first class training to our ever-increasing customer base over the next 5 years. We now have an instructor on board who is also accredited to AITT to which I am looking into myself to make us more competitive within the materials handling sector.
Since April 19 we have successfully tested 569 of our own customers and 25 for other training providers which is a 36% increase from the same period last year. We continue to train and test in various equipment s such as 180 & 360 excavators (both the above and below 10-ton categories), forward tipping dumpers, forklifts (all variants including the telescopic 360 slew), MEWP s and vehicle mounted lorry loaders (HIAB s) to name but a few that we are accredited and insured to train and test on within our customers premises. We have seen an increased demand again this year in the amount of personnel seeking to do the NPORS CSCS red card training which is a huge competitor to the once dominant CPCS card scheme. Build UK has stipulated that personnel that operate plant machinery on their sites the individual must have an operator s card with the CSCS logo on it. We like to advise our customers on the best training they require and what accreditation (if any) best suits their job role. We have also seen a rise within the industrial sector on In-House training rather than having national accreditation in particular to forklift training. This of course has certain advantages (and disadvantages that we point out) and can be bespoke to what your company does. However, proper training on the machine type is always our main priority and safety is paramount so this is something we won’t skimp on. No matter what training option you opt for Ash Vale Training will deliver it to meet all accrediting bodies training directives. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) don t mind what accreditation the company or individual has as long as they have received adequate training for the machine type they use and the training has been given by an approved and qualified training provider.
As we are winding down for 2019 we are already making preparations for the training in 2020 where we start back on Mon 06 Jan 20 with training in Frimley (lovely and local).
